Built like a sturdy fat pony, the Plains Zebra has a short sleek white coat, with black or brown stripes extending onto belly. The Plains Zebra is one of the most nomadic of grazers, ceaselessly in search of green pastures. Its dependence on water keeps it within 20 miles of water holes during the dry season.
